John Carroll University

About John Carroll University, University Heights, Ohio:
This will be the sixth time that John Carroll has been to Europe since 1994, and its second visit to Ireland. The team traveled there in May of 2004 for an exhibition game against a team from the Irish American Football league (IAFL) in the town of Wicklow. JCU has also visited Berlin (1994), Barcelona (1997), Rome/Italy (2000), Switzerland (2007) and most recently, Paris/France (2010).

John Carroll University was founded in 1886 as Saint Ignatius College, is located in University Heights, Ohio, in suburban Cleveland. The University was renamed in 1923 to honor America’s first Catholic Bishop, John Carroll of Maryland.

The John Carroll intercollegiate athletic program competes at the Division III (non-scholarship) level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, and is a member institution of the Ohio Athletic Conference
