Kent School

About Kent School football, Northwestern Connecticut:
In 18 seasons as Kent School’s football coach Todd Marble has been fortunate to coach hundreds of athletes – from Division I scholarship and even professional players to undersized though big-hearted students whose love of the game and sense of being part of something special far outweigh their athletic skills. In 25 years as a head coach in the Erickson league and 3 years coaching at the collegiate level I have never cut a player. Anyone wanting to be part of Kent Football – regardless of size, strength or experience (many Kent players join the program having never played the game) is welcome to take part. As one of the few co-ed schools committed to having three full seasons of athletics every player can count on an opportunity to play a 3rds, JV or Varsity sport. At Kent, players self-select which level they wish to take part in.

From a state-of-the-art video editing system (each player has running personal highlights updated each week throughout the season that are available to college coaches); a fitness center second to none (overlooking the football field); computerized training programs supported by a dedicated strength and conditioning coach; along with a top level trainer and equipment manager; Kent Football has all the support expected of a top flight program that places players at the leading colleges in the country. They also pride ourselves in teaching character as well as X’s and O’s. In fact, they look at football as a medium through which values such as preparation, passion and perseverance (Kent Football’s trademark) are taught.

Kent plays as challenging a schedule as any in New England prep school football culminating in the “Spoon Game” arguably the most storied of rivalries in New England prep school athletics. Most home games are played under the lights with crowds that are the envy of any school. They have also seen their share of success, claiming seven league championships, five New England Championship game berths and two New England titles in the past 17 years.
